Frequently Asked Questions

What Would You Like to Know?

Do I need experience?

No experience required. We work with all individuals of all ages based on personal goals and commitments. Think of your sessions as tailored made and as unique as you are!

We excel in the Show Ring and many Western high performance levels.

Do I need my own horse? Do you board?

We understand that horses are expensive and a 'BIG' commitment so we help provide options and use of our horses. If you have your own horse we encourage you to haul on in and spend the session together learning and growing!
We currently 'do not' board unless your horse is in our registered monthly training program...we just don't have enough room for all our 4-legged buddies.

What are the fees like? Can I afford this?

Private one on one sessions: $60/hr

Group sessions: $45 ea/hr

Training your horse: $900/month includes board and feed program

I started taking riding lessons with Shannon last month. So far, I have had 4 sessions on my horse Ike at her facility.
Before taking lessons with Shannon, I had only ridden Ike a handful of times after I was in a car accident 4 years
ago. My car accident made me much more cautious since I knew I was now at a higher risk of a serious injury if I
fell while riding. When I started riding with Shannon a month ago, I was a ball of emotions. I was scared to go past
a walk, and I would feel ill when I would think of going faster. In turn, my horse would feel my nerves and would
start getting worked up.
My first lesson Shannon had to start by holding onto my horse while I rode him at a walk. Even then she had to
remind me to breath. Shannon was so patient with me; she never made me feel judged for my lack of confidence.
After she walked me around, she then put me on a lung line with Ike while she helped me get comfortable enough to
trot and then after a little while she asked me to lope while on the lung line. Even before my accident I had a huge
barrier to loping, so you can’t image how much I hated the idea of a lope on that lung line. Shannon was amazing at
talking me through these barriers, and making me more comfortable. For my next lesson, with the amazing coaching
from Shannon , I was comfortable to lope by myself in the round pen. This then lead to me practicing my trot and
lope in her arena.
I still have a lot to work on with my trot and lope, but with Shannon’s non-judgmental caring, and knowing how to
give the right amount of push to my stubborn self, I know Ike’s and my future riding can only go uphill.
If you are looking for lessons, Shannon is your go to girl. Shannon will guide you, and will always do everything
she can to make you a comfortable and confident rider.

Making Children Smile. Helping Families Grow

When our youth are able to engage with confidence and learn to handle responsibilities, emotions and trust they then thrive and develop into capable adults who contribute back to our community and world.

Outstanding Quality in Youth Development

Home of the Indus Silver Spurs, our local 4-H club is strong and developing great Horsemanship skills through the volunteered time and guidance of key adults. The kids are learning safety, barn management, health and nutrition, riding skills and public speaking. All which get showcased at the end of the year for 4-H on Parade at Calgary Stampede Park.
